European Film Festival in Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang & Dalat | 13-21 May 2022

The EU Film Festival in Vietnam (EUFF) returns to cinemas across four major cities on 13 May 2022.

Returning after a COVID-19-related hiatus in 2020, the 21st EUFF will introduce filmgoers, cultural enthusiasts and the young generation to a curated selection of movies that present a window into EU Member States’ rich cultural heritage and diversity in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and Dalat.

Organised by the EU Delegation to Vietnam, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, youth organisations, universities, and European cultural institutes, the free-of-charge event is expected to draw more than 8,000 visitors across multiple venues.

With more than half of Vietnam's 98 million-strong population below 35, the two-week festival will focus on the youth and young urban residents in the four cities. Catering to the young demographic is particularly important at the 21st EUFF, given that 2022 is the European Year of the Youth. Through a series of global activities, the initiative aims to shine a light on the importance of the youth in shaping the future while re-establishing a positive outlook among the generation in the aftermath of the pandemic.
