EU Scholarship and Research Funding Programmes

EU scholarship alumni play an important role in the EU public and cultural policy promotion. They have strong interest in Europe, academically trained in the EU countries, and return to become their country’s driving force for sustainable development.

The Erasmus+ programme is an EU flagship initiative to promote higher education cooperation and student exchanges around the world. For over 30 years, students and staff have benefited from the programme. The Impact Study demonstrated that 80% of Erasmus+ students were employed within three months of graduation. 72% said their experience abroad helped them get their first job.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) is among Europe’s most prestigious research funding programme. The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships offer researchers an opportunity to spend up to two years working at a lab anywhere in Europe. The MSCA Staff Exchanges also fund short-term exchanges of personnel between academic, industrial and commercial organisations based in Europe and the rest of the world. The programme is open to any type of staff contributing to research activities.  Non-EU students also have an opportunity to apply for fully funded PhD positions in Europe offered through the MSCA Doctoral Networks.

From May to August 2021, the European Union (EU), in partnership with the network of the EU scholarship alumni in Thailand, conducted a media and public outreach campaign to promote the EU flagship scholarship programmes: Erasmus+ and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). The campaign was supported by EURAXESS ASEAN and the National Science and Technology Development Agency of Thailand (NSTDA).
